Associate Producer/Production Manager - Julian Duggan

Based in Melbourne, Victoria Julian works as a freelance 1st Assistant Director and Production Coordinator.

Julian's career in the film and TV industry began at the age of 18 when he was invited to Connecticut, USA, to work as the Directors Assistant to Sundance winning director David Grotell on the feature film 'A Bad Spell'. Julian's relationship with David began during his time at the New York Film Academy whilst attending one of their courses at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Since completing his Diploma of Screen at the Queensland School of Film & TV Julian has worked predominantly as a 1st Assistant Director on short films both locally and nationally. Julian also worked on several feature films. The most recent of these was as 1st AD on 'Think' with Oscar winning DOP Jim Fraser and starring AFI award winner Sam Worthington.

Recent television credits include 'The X Factor' and 'Big Brother - Hunt for a Housemate', and the current Betty Crocker television commercial.

Julian's experience is not just limited to film and television. He has also had the opportunity to work with Salmac Productions on both of their theatre productions 'Chasing Pegasus' and 'P.S. I Love You'. It was on these productions that Julian worked alongside lighting director Paul Hawthorne who is known for his work on 'Moulin Rouge', 'Picnic At Hanging Rock' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.

Julian is First Aid qualified (Level 2) and also has several years of military training with the 5/6th Royal Victorian Regiment. This training always proves extremely useful in developing initiative, teamwork and management skills as well as stress management.
