In a world full of rapidly-growing new technology (and all the overwhelming options it offers), it seems our propensity as a race for addiction has increased steadily in line with the amount of new, ever-innovative addictions on offer. If we are to believe the media, the old adage of "everything in moderation", seems to have been thrown to the four winds, never to return. fixNATION deals with the concept of addiction in all its forms. From the harmful to the relatively innocuous. Everything from drugs to video games to text messaging to collecting soft toys to celebrity worship, the ten characters in the film go about carrying out their addictions with the camera behaving as a voyeur - which is another addiction itself, as any reality television program's ratings proves. Filmed entirely in one day in one location on the Mornington Peninsula, with ten cast and nineteen crew, fixNATION looks at the innate need that many human beings succumb to in their everyday lives (whether they know it or not), that catergorise them as having an addiction, which if we are honest, we can all relate to. fixNATION - where once just isn’t enough ... 2007 UPDATE |
