A graduate of The Actor's
Institute, London, Sally's film credits include Under The Moon, Ladybird,
Just Move Your Lips, Secrets
and Joining the Dots. She has played leading roles in the
Australian stage productions of Little Shop of Horrors, The Secret
Diary of Adrian Mole, On The Town, Song and Dance, Annie, Oklahoma,
Tomb with a View, Lovepuke
and the Australian Premier of the off-Broadway hit, I Love You, You're
Perfect, Now Change
at the Athenaeum Theatre, opposite Julia Morris and Matt Hetherington,
during the 1998 Melbourne
International Comedy Festival.
On the London stage she has
played lead roles in Uncle Vanya, Top Girls, Annabel's Requiem and Macbeth,
among others. Her television credits include Neighbours, Flying
Doctors, Bingles, Blue Heelers, Tonight Live, BBCs The Bookworm and Channel 9s Comedy Inc.. She most recently played the role of "Angie
Powers" in the BBC mini-series, Bootleg
which aired in September this year on ABC Television, and has
just completed filming the lead role of Camilla in
Angela Paraskevas Without A Word.
Also a screenwriter and producer,
Sally co-wrote and co-produced the successful short feature A Little Rain Must
Fall, which premiered at Ealing Studios, London in
July 1997. She is currently working as screenwriter/creative
producer on her first major feature film, Forever
(working title), which is under representation with IndeGo Films
in Sydney for production in the UK. She is also co-producer for
the Australian feature film Heart
(working title), written and produced by Jeff Richards, starring
Jacinta
Stapleton (Stingers) and Alan Fletcher (Neighbours), directed by VCA graduate, Jeremy Stanford. Prior to this, she worked in production
at the BBC, London in the Music & Arts and UKTV departments,
during which time she chaired the Alternative Program Development Unit, submitting several successful program
ideas for BBC1 and BBC2. She most recently worked for Crackerjack
Productions at Channel 9, Melbourne on Comedy Inc. as audience coordinator/autocue operator.
Sally is also a published poet
and short fiction author, appearing in several international
magazines and anthologies. She was recently named an International Poet
of Merit and nominated
for International
Poet of the Year 2003
by the US International Library of Poetry, and is featured in
their Best
Poets and Poems of 2003
anthology. She
also wrote and directed her first play, Chasing Pegasus (A Play in Ten Chords),
which premiered on December 19th, 2003.
fixNATION is Sallys debut film as a solo
director. She wanted to explore the apparent increase of addictions
in our society, question what is an addiction and has drawn the
conclusion that nearly everything can be labelled as an "addiction"
- be it perceived as healthy or otherwise. For those who are
interested, her personal addictions are varied, but include filmmaking
and web design. Essentially, she is addicted to communication.
