. the golden screen award™ for web design .SPECIAL NOTICE - Thursday, September 27, 2001

Due to increasing commitments with filming and families, it has been decided by the Golden Screen Award Panel to suspend the Golden Screen Award Program until further notice.

We are sad to let the program go, but do not feel that we are giving award-seekers a truly fair go in their search for recognition. Our awarding times have increased from three weeks to seven in the last year, and that is one of many reasons for the unanimous decision to halt the program. There has been talk of restructuring and relaunching the award in the next few months, but, for now, it's just talk.

We would like to thank both those seeking awards, and those other dedicated individuals and groups who give out their own awards, who, through their efforts, have encouraged us to go onto greater heights with our program. I would especially like to thank all those at Awardsville, who gave me a true sense of belonging within the award-giving community, and will be personally very sad to leave them all.

When we started at a 3.5 rating at Award Sites! in 1998, we were delighted - and we are sorry to let our current 4.5 rating go, along with the program. But, all things must end. And, for now, this is where we end.

We are leaving our winners' list up to honour those who most certainly deserved this award. All the webmasters, individuals and groups who wear the Golden Screen Award Badge are worthy contenders, and we thank them for bringing such interesting, informative and entertaining sites to life for us, and all the Internet community, to enjoy.

Thank you and adios for now.
