PLEASE NOTE: The Acting Up Drama Classes are currently on a hiatus as tutor, Sally McLean, has several acting commitments of her own that have made it difficult to continue teaching at this moment. We will update this site as soon as we know where the gaps in her schedule will be. Thank you for your patience.

The Acting Up Course series is an initative of The Actors' Institute, London, graduate, Sally McLean, through Incognita Enterprises, the arts education and theatre production arm of Salmac Productions, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. All Acting Up workshops are run at Mt Martha House, Crn The Esplanade & Dominion Road, Mt Martha, Victoria, Australia (on the Mornington Peninsula).

The Acting Up drama classes began in 1998 as masterclasses and one-off workshops for actors entering the industry. In January 2003, "Acting Up at the House" began as a weekly class, held over the four school terms for one year. And now, in 2006, Acting Up brings a fresh new line up of workshops, working with estabished industry professionals with the next generation of talent. We take students who are beginners to advanced and from age 15 years to the Over 50's.

The Acting Up classes for actors cover audition technique, Stanislavski method, characterisation, context, improvisation, voice, Shakespeare In Action and acting for the camera, based on the techniques taught at The Actors' Institute, London. All our workshops use industry professionals who work with the students in their area of expertise in a fun, relaxed and professional environment.

So, if you're looking for a fresh take on training for the entertainment industry, that is affordable, insightful and fun, then you've come to the right place. Don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like to know more.

We look foward to hearing from you.
