The Actor On Screen
Experience
Level of Students Required:
Beginner (Emerging)
to Intermediate
(including those with theatre experience, but limited screen credits)
Many stage performers find the transition to screen somewhat of a challenge. While similar techniques are used to stage work, there a subtle, yet major difference in the use of these techiques once you're in front of a camera. This workshop has been designed to help stage actors get a handle on the differences and build a basic toolbox for use in screenwork for both film and television.
This workshop will be exclusively conducted (by special arrangement) by the highly-respected Australian Television Director, Richard Sarell. Richard has worked in the Australian and New Zealand television industries as a director for over 17 years on shows such as MDA, All Saints, Home and Away, Neighbours, Something in the Air, Murder Call, Water Rats, Shortland Street (TVNZ), Plain Clothes (TVNZ), Australias Most Wanted, A Country Practice, Skirts, Blue Heelers, Law of the Land, Embassy and The Fast Lane.
Students will be asked to learn a scene, selected by the tutors prior to the class (which will be sent to them when they book a place), and should be ready to play the scene in a variety of ways.
