Short Film
Course - From Script to Screen (proposed)
An eight week course, created for those who have always wanted
to make a short film, but didn't know where to start. Beginning
with script creation on Week 1 to 2, then Producing, Crewing,
Casting, Directing and finally Filming, this course has been designed
to give a clear breakdown of producing a five minute short film
the right way, on a minimal budget.
Students will learn about basic legals, insurances, scheduling, MEAA requirements, producer obligations to cast and crew, catering and Health and Safety. This course is intended to instill a basic healthy work ethic and an understanding of the responsilbilities filmmakers have to all who work with them, regardless of whether they are able to pay their cast and crew or not.
Tutors will be experienced professionals in their area of expertise, who will work closely with the students during the process of creating the film from pre-production to filming. Post-production will be carried out by Incognita Enterprises, with all students receiving a copy of the completed film. Sally McLean will take the role of Executive Producer for the film. Students should expect to carry out work for the film between classes, as well as attending every class.
