ACTING UP NEWSLETTER - MARCH 2006

Hi Everyone,

Well, what a great day we had on Saturday with "The Business of Auditioning"! Jo Rippon really enjoyed her time with the students and was very impressed with the level of talent amongst the group - as was I!

I will give a full report at the end of the week in the next official Acting Up Newsletter, but, in the meantime, just wanted to say thank you to all the students (Arno, Alicia, Jesse, Sarah R, Sarah H, Sarah P, Rachel and Jasna) for all your hard work and your really generous feedback on the workshop. Don't forget - Don't Give Up!! Be that 5%!!

I also want to let everyone know that The Basics of Acting has a couple of places that have become available, so if you'd like to come along, just let me know.

The Basics of Acting

A class designed for beginners, or those who have not yet trained, but are interested in learning the basic techniques required for acting with naturalism - a technique used for all screen work, as well as a majority of stage productions.

Using a combination of the Stanislavski and Chekov methods, students will work on scenes during the workshop which will then be put on tape.

So, You Want To Be In A Soap? with Marisa Warrington

This workshop is being moved ahead a couple of weeks as I've just heard that my rehearsal schedule for "Blood Wedding" has been confirmed to start next week full-time, and I've just been booked for a film gig on Saturday. I will inform everyone when the new date is confirmed.

It wouldn't hurt to meet Marisa, by the way, as she has just set up her own production company and has a few projects on the slate with some rather impressive people involved.

Hope this finds everyone well and happy and enjoying their own successes!

Cheers for now,

Sally McLean
