Acting Up™ at the House students from the weekly classes, had the opportunity to perform in specially written productions during 2003 and 2004. Now that we have reverted back to monthly workshops, future productions will have cast made up of working actors and Acting Up students, and will require all prospective cast members to audition for roles.

This full-length play was written especially for the Acting Up at the House students as an end of term production exploring the themes of love and war. Set in Melbourne during WWII, P.S. I Love You celebrates not only the enduring qualities of love, in all its forms, but also the women on the homefront, without whom, the country would have ground to a halt.

P.S. I Love You received its World Premier on Saturday, July 31, 2004.

CHASING PEGASUS TO BE PERFORMED AT GASWORKS ARTS PARK, MELBOURNE IN 2006!! Visit the "Latest News" section for more information

This short play was written especially for the students, as an end of term production using the themes of diversity and acceptance, as well as the universal desire to follow our dreams. It is a celebration of what makes us different, and through that discovery, what makes us ultimately the same.

We were delighted to have the hit 1970's song "I Am Pegasus" by Ross Ryan performed in the play - by Ross himself!! Ross has very graciously allowed us to use the song, and we are most grateful. You can visit Ross online at http://www.rossryan.com

The title refers to the Greek myth of Pegasus, the winged horse, who was reared by the Muses, and symbolises divine inspiration and the quest for immortality (as evidenced by the myth of the Greek King Bellerophon, who attempted, unsuccessfully, to ride Pegasus to the top of Mount Olympia to become one of the Gods).

In the context of the play, Pegasus is used as a symbol of all that is magical, artistic and divine. The play “Chasing Pegasus” focuses not on accepting our place in the world, but rather on the continuing quest of humankind to become more than the sum of our parts.

fixNATION - 2003

Students also worked on the short film, fixNATION, which has shown at several venues, including being aired on Foxtel in September 2005. This has been included in the course to give students the chance to experience working on camera and so they have something to kick start their showreel.
