- Gaelic proverb
Fàilte (Welcome),
This webring draws on the inspiration
of the upcoming Scots/Australian movie, "Forever",
which features the mythical Ring of Dalny.
Where does the name "Dalny"
come from? According to the Encyclopedia of the Celts: "DALNY
n. Queen of Partholan. # 562". Dalny was the Queen
of the Partholan - one of the first races to inhabit Ireland,
centuries before Christ. As the Scots are descended from the
Irish, hence the Ring of Dalny travelled to Scotland. According
to legend, it then became an object that the Druids used to symbolise
and preserve the Scots Gaels way of life.
Much like it's namesake, this
webring aims to join all those with Scots interests and/or heritage
together online, in an effort to promote and preserve this rich
and vibrant culture.
It is open to all sites that
celebrate the Scots-Gaelic and Celtic culture - be it music,
myth, dance, art, geneaology, heraldry, history, food, language,
storytelling, film & television, tourism, industry or general
reference material.
Sites must contain a substantial
amount of information about their subject choice that celebrates
the proud Celtic/Gaelic nation of Scotland. Both commercial and
non-commercial sites are welcome to apply.
If you wish to apply to the ring,

is visited, and no ring code is found, or it is not on the page
you specified when you applied to the ring, you will be issued
